The Campaign

The primary objective was to represent the United States at the pinnacle of the sport and clinch an Olympic Gold medal in Formula Kite. However, to realize this goal, I needed to win the US Olympic Trials in January 2024. Having finished 4th at the US Olympic Trials I did not earn Athlete Selection and my Olympic Campaign has come to an end. There is a possibility to restart the campaign for the LA 2028 Olympics, but for now, I will be pursuing software development.

The trials were a test of resilience with promising races that didn’t yield the needed results. It was an incredible week, challenging, exciting, frustrating, and some fun battles on the race course. Since the trials I have returned to California, began my search for my next job opportunity in mobile software development, worked with athletes to help her prepare for Paris in sailing, and caught up with friends and family.

I’m proud of the campaign that I ran with dedication and focus. Five+ years invested, no regrets, but pursuit comes with sacrifice. As the decision unfolds of “what’s next?” I recall a lesson/mantra from trials: “Let the decision come to me.” Many opportunities and pathways lie ahead, but for now, some time to reflect, catch up with friends/family, and time to reset before the next chapter.
